36 former Malaya and Borneo Veterans traveled to Kuching, Sarawak to attend a special commemoration ceremony, marking the 50th anniversary of the cease fire and declaration of the end of the Indonesian Confrontation with Malaysia.

Not much is known in Australia about this conflict, but the people of Sarawak haven’t forgotten. They have a lasting friendship with the Aussies. Even their children know of the Australians who fought there in the 1950s and 60s. Have a listen as Brian Selby, President of the National Malaya & Borneo Veterans’ Association of Australia, SA & NT Branch explains.
